JEE Main is an entrance examination conducted by the National Testing Agency (NTA) in India for admission to undergraduate engineering programs in various institutes accepting the JEE score, including the Indian Institutes of Technology (IITs). It is held twice a year, usually in January and April.

JEE Main consists of two papers, Paper-1 for B.E/B.Tech programs and Paper-2 for B.Arch/B.Planning programs. The examination is conducted in online (computer-based) mode and consists of objective type questions from Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics subjects. The score of JEE Mains is used for admission to various engineering colleges across India, including the National Institutes of Technology (NITs), Indian Institutes of Information Technology (IIITs), and government-funded technical institutes (GFTIs). Some of the top institutions also use JEE Main score as a part of their admission process, along with other criteria such as performance in class 12th and/or a separate admission test.
